Yixing Purple Clay Wintersweet Teapot

Many tea connoisseurs would say that the Yixing Purple Clay Wintersweet Teapot an indispensable item for a tea enthusiast's collection. The qualities that make them truly special are directly linked to the purple clay (ZiSha), found only in the Yixing, Jiangsu province of China, and the highly skilled craftspeople commissioned to create the pots. I use this for gongfu steeping of raw Pu-reh tea. Love this, makes one cup at a time - perfect for making my morning cups of Pu-reh tea as you can easily steep the tea the 8-10 times as recommended without using a large amount of tea at a time. Making expensive Pu-reh tea cakes affordable. Because of the Yixing clay tea pot does not add any funny flavors and I have used mine enough with raw Pu-reh tea that it has absorbed the oils from the tea. Recommend for beginners starting or wanting to start using the gongfu steeping method with a good Pu-reh tea. If you are starting or interested I would recommend any of the Bana Tea Sample sizes of either raw (un-fermented) Pu-reh or cooked or (fermented tea) great explanation offered on Amazon under the Pu-reh tea selection's from Bana Tea Co. and the cost is reasonable. Then once you are hooked you can find several Pu-reh tea cakes from various vendors at a wide variety of price points. (Posted on 12/14/2015)
