This Chinese Ruyao tea set showcases a harmonious blend of refined craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics, offering both visual and tactile pleasure for tea lovers. Made from original high-grade kaolin clay and fired at high temperatures, the glaze naturally develops delicate crack patterns. Originally considered a glaze defect in Ru porcelain, these patterns have been skillfully transformed by artisans into a distinctive and beautiful decorative feature.
The elegant cicada-wing crackle is more delicate and orderly than other crack patterns such as crab claw or ice crack, resembling shimmering fish scales. Interwoven light and dark lines overlap like layered cicada wings, enhancing both the visual depth and durability of the porcelain. The glaze and crackle complement each other, enriching the aesthetic character and cultural expression of Ruyao ware.
The tea set features a retro Chinese design highlighted by serene fairyland mountain landscapes. Soft blue painting contrasts beautifully with the bright ceramic glaze, evoking a sense of tranquility and harmony.
