This tea set is made of aged rock clay, it uses the traditional Japanese "kobiki" (こひき) craftsmanship , an elegant ceramic style - white clay is fired in high temperature to create a frosted texture. The surface of the tea set is irregularly porous and has a powdery finish, "as if sprinkled with powder." The tea set typically comes in a soft, creamy or ivory color.
