The production of Kutani-yaki involves many meticulous steps—quarrying, crushing, screening, sedimentation, forming, firing, painting, glazing, and multiple firings—resulting in richly layered and expressive works. Characterized by bold color palettes, primarily greens, blues, yellows, and purples, Kutani-yaki embodies the timeless elegance of traditional Japanese art.
This handmade cherry blossoms and birds tea cup offers a comfortable and stable grip with a smooth glaze and subtly concave texture. Lifelike birds and blooming cherry blossoms resemble a vivid painting, harmonized by a retro background and bright, colorful patterns.
