This Purple Clay Round Tea Cup With Infuser is made without any glaze, showcasing the natural texture of Yixing purple clay. Using a hand-carved knife technique, the cup features powerful bamboo, bamboo leaves, and eight traditional Chinese characters: “Happiness is like the East China Sea, and longevity is like the South Mountain.” These words symbolize boundless blessings and long life, and are often used as birthday blessings for elders.
The carved patterns can be clearly felt by hand, highlighting the craftsmanship. The teacup lid is engraved with a “Fu” character, meaning blessing and good fortune. This tea cup allows you to freely control the strength of the tea: steep longer for a richer flavor, or remove the infuser early for a lighter taste. The raised base design effectively prevents scalding and insulates temperature, keeping hands comfortable even when holding cold drinks.
Highly regarded by tea connoisseurs, this cup is considered an essential piece for tea lovers.
